FAQs
How do I get to the hotel?
The Hilton is located 18 miles from Kona Airport (KOA). Allow a 30 minute drive time. Transportation options include Taxi, Uber, private shuttle, and car rentals. If you rent a car, keep in mind there is a daily parking fee at the hotel.
Estimated costs for an uber to the hotel is about $42, depending on the time of day. Taxi stands are available, and there are usually several taxis available when large flights arrive from the US mainland. You can also call in advance to schedule a taxi pickup. If you are traveling with a group, Roberts Hawaii offers airport shuttle service in a private shuttle van for up to 14 people for about $235.

For other meals, the Hilton Waikoloa offers several restaurants, coffee shops and grab & go options. Less than 1 mile away, you will also find the King Shops and Queens’ Marketplace, with many restaurants, coffee shops, food court and food stores with many grab & go options. You can walk to the shops, or take the Waikoloa Shopping Shuttle ($5). The shuttle runs continuously from 9am to 9pm every day. You can track the location of the shuttle here.
Can I come early or stay longer after the retreat?
Yes! The group rate is good for 3 days before and after the retreat.
What should I know about the hotel?
The Hilton Waikoloa Village is a large resort on the Kona Coast of Hawai’i Island that has large, spacious convention facilities and three guest towers. The Hilton boasts many large pools and waterslides and extensive grounds. A snorkel lagoon is wonderful for easily seeing fish and sea turtles. Adjacent to the lagoon is Dolphin Quest, home to over a dozen dolphins.
Throughout the hotel grounds, you will find an amazing art collection featuring more than 1800 unique pieces from Asian, Western, and Oceanic cultures. You will find countless works of art honoring the Buddha, Buddha Kwan Yin, and the Bodhisattva.
Allow time to walk between your room and other areas of the resort. If you prefer, the hotel has air conditioned trams, available daily from 6 am – 1 am. The trams take you from MAKAI to Ocean Tower with stops at the Main Lobby, Convention Center and Palace Tower along the way.
What is the weather like in early March?
Average Highs = 84, Average Lows = 70. The area is very dry and rain is minimal.
What should I know about Hawai’i Island?
Hawai’i Island is known as the Healing Island. It’s energy (mana) is palpable. It is home to Mauna Kea, considered by Hawaiians to be the connection between the earth and the heavens. It is also home to Kilauea volcano, home of Pelehonuamea, the goddess of the volcano.
